An illuminated sign is an electrical assembly first and a graphic second. Get the module layout, driver sizing and thermal management right and the sign looks the same in year eight as it did on day one. Get them wrong and you end up with visible hot spots, dark corners and a service call every winter.

We build illuminated cabinets, light boxes, backlit fascias and push-through letter panels to order. Every unit is calculated rather than estimated: we work out the lumen requirement for the face area and material, lay the modules out to suit the cabinet depth, size the driver with headroom, and label the feeds so an electrician can connect it without guesswork.

How we build them

  1. Face area, material transmission and viewing distance determine the lumen target.
  2. Cabinet is fabricated from extruded or formed aluminium with a serviceable access detail.
  3. Interior is coated white to maximise reflectance before modules go in.
  4. Modules are laid out to the calculated spacing and wired in labelled runs.
  5. Drivers are mounted with airflow and rated at 80% of capacity for longevity.
  6. The unit is run for a burn-in period on the bench and inspected for uniformity.

Usually yes, and it is often the most cost-effective upgrade available. We strip the tubes and ballasts, repaint the cabinet interior for reflectance, fit an LED module layout suited to the cabinet depth, and install a new driver. The existing faces are reused if they are still in good condition.

We specify to the viewing distance. Highway-facing signage uses higher-output modules and often a tighter layout than a walk-up storefront. Tell us the sightline distance and speed limit and we will size it accordingly.

Yes. Photocells, astronomical timers and dimmable drivers are all straightforward additions. Some municipalities and landlords require curfew shut-off, so it is worth checking your lease and local bylaw before we finalise the build.

We terminate the sign to a labelled junction and a licensed electrician makes the final connection to your building supply. We coordinate with your electrician directly so the site visits line up.
