Some signs cannot be ordered from a catalogue. A projecting blade sign on a heritage facade, a sculpted three-dimensional logo, a monument with an unusual profile, a fabricated frame that has to clear existing structure — these are drawn from first principles, engineered for the actual loads, and built once.

Custom fabrication is where an in-house shop earns its keep. Because our designers sit alongside the welders and the router, an awkward detail gets resolved on the floor in an afternoon instead of bouncing between three suppliers for a fortnight.

Materials we work in

Aluminium sheet and extrusion, mild and stainless steel, brass and copper for feature work, acrylic and polycarbonate, aluminium composite panel, PVC, HDU foam for carved and dimensional work, and dimensional timber for heritage and hospitality applications.

How we build them

  1. Concept development against real material sizes, structural loads and site constraints.
  2. Shop drawings covering fabrication detail, fixing method and finish specification.
  3. Material cut, formed, welded and dressed in our own shop.
  4. Prep, prime and finish in a controlled spray booth to matched colour references.
  5. Dry assembly and inspection before the unit is crated for site.

Regularly. Architects and brand agencies send us concepts and we produce the shop drawings that make them buildable — resolving return depths, fixing centres, service access and tolerances without losing the design intent.

Yes. We survey and photograph the original, redraw the letterforms and profiles to scale, and reproduce the construction. This is common for multi-location businesses adding a site or replacing a damaged unit.

It carries more design and setup time than a standard product, but the material cost is often similar. For a single feature sign the difference is usually smaller than clients expect — we are happy to price a custom option alongside a standard one so you can compare.

For most wall-mounted and blade signs we design to established fixing practice for the substrate. Where a municipality requires a sealed structural review — typically larger freestanding or high-level work — we coordinate with a BC-registered engineer and include it in the quote.
