Illuminated Directory for a Medical Office Building

Practitioner turnover in a medical office building is constant, and the outgoing directory required a screwdriver and a spare panel for every change.

We built an edge-lit acrylic directory with a magnetic insert system: each of the 32 positions holds a printed insert that lifts out by hand. Building management prints replacements from a supplied template on standard office equipment.

Illumination is edge-lit from the perimeter rather than backlit, which keeps the unit under 40mm deep and avoids any visible LED hot spots behind the inserts.
